Job Title: Prep LineLocation: Shunk Gulley Oyster BarReports To: Kitchen Manager / Executive ChefEmployment Type: Full-Time or Part-TimeHourly Rate: Competitive, based on experiencePosition SummaryShunk Gulley Oyster Bar is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Prep Line Employee to support our kitchen team in delivering exceptional food quality and consistency in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting line cooks, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring all prep work is completed accurately and efficiently to support daily service.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation Prepare and portion ingredients according to standardized recipes and chef specifications.Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, proteins, and other food items.Assist in preparing sauces, dressings, soups, and other menu components.Label, date, and properly store all prepared items following food safety guidelines.Ensure all prep stations are stocked and organized for service.Line Support Assist line cooks during service with ingredient replenishment and station support.Maintain readiness of backup products and communicate low inventory to supervisors.Help with plating or finishing dishes as needed during peak service times.Kitchen Cleanliness & Safety Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.Follow all food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.Properly clean and sanitize kitchen tools, equipment, and prep areas.Assist with end-of-shift and deep-cleaning responsibilities.Inventory & Organization Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods.Monitor product freshness and report any waste or quality concerns.Assist with receiving and storing deliveries properly.Qualifications Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Reliable attendance and punctuality required.Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Skills & Attributes Positive attitude and strong work ethicTeam player with excellent communication skillsAbility to multitask and stay organizedStrong sense of urgency and attention to detailCommitment to cleanliness and safetyBenefits (if applicable) Competitive hourly payEmployee meal discountsGrowth and advancement opportunitiesSupportive, team-focused work environmentPowered by JazzHR
