Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager II
Summary: Maintains more complex loan portfolios. Interacts with customers to maintain and enhance business relationships. Works with a team of commercial lenders with regard to all aspects of loan origination and follow up, including: information compilation and review, submission of loans to the Credit Department, covenant monitoring, extensions, renewals, interest rate modifications, file documentation, exception resolution, delinquencies, etc. Trains and Mentors less experienced Portfolio Managers. Job Responsibilities: Portfolio Management Maintains performing Commercial loan portfolio. Works with a team of Commercial Lenders regarding Commercial compliant portfolio maintenance activities including maturity monitoring, renewals, interest rate modifications and documentation collection. Reviews monthly maturity reports, requests updated financial information, orders third party searches, and prepares extension memos, as required. Performs Credit File Reviews on an annual basis for loans assigned within their Lending Officer's portfolio. Prepares Pre-Cams for all renewals and modifications to be submitted to underwriting. Provides support to Lenders who handle more complex relationships to ensure that all information needed to place a loan into underwriting is received. Interacts with customers to maintain and enhance business relationships. Spreads financials, performs debt service calculations and pre-screens new loan requests and modifications alongside Lending Officer. Analysis of financial and related data for credit worthiness and merits of loan requests as well as periodic reviews of customer financials. Reviews Credit Risk Review Reporting and Loan Documentation Exception reports, assists Lenders with clearing of exceptions. Acts as a liaison between the Credit, Lending, Risk and Loan Servicing Departments as well as customers during the collection, underwriting, approval, and servicing stages of the loan submission, as needed. Covenant Management Regularly monitors, maintains, and updates their respective covenant tracking database. Ensures that covenants are met, follows up with borrowers for needed information, and notifies Lenders when information is not provided in a timely manner. Monitors monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to track periodic reporting assigned to any given loan relationship. Monitoring and Recommendations Monitors delinquencies alongside Lending Officer. Along with the team of Commercial Lenders assigned, provides recommendations as to loan restructuring, implementing legal collection action, or referral of the loan to the Special Assets Department. Industry/Job Knowledge Maintains a current knowledge of OCC Regulations, local and national economic, financial political and legislative trends. Determines the possible impact on commercial lending activities. Maintains the ability to train and develop new team members. Other Responsibilities Performs other job related duties as may be assigned. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, or related field. 5-7 years of related Commercial Banking and/or Commercial Credit experience. 2-3 years of Portfolio Management experience. Effective written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally. Considerable attention to detail. Formal credit training and strong credit risk assessment skills. Organizational skills. Ability to develop constructive and cooperative relationships Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word. Working knowledge of covenant tracking systems.
