Software Engineer II - Test (Hardware / Software)
Overview:
As Software Engineer II – Test, you will design and maintain testing software and infrastructure for our autonomous rail vehicle, blending cloud and hardware perspectives. You will shape testing strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product, software, hardware, and IT to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain testing frameworks for on-vehicle software and cloud services
- Create hardware test stands for vehicle subsystems
- Maintain CI pipelines focusing on reliability, speed, and cost
- Develop internal software tooling in collaboration with hardware and software teams
- Contribute to regulatory documentation including software traceability and test protocols
- Lead project efforts as needed to define milestones and guide execution
Key requirements:
- 3+ years in software development with scripting (Python, JS) and systems programming (C++/Rust)
- Experience or strong interest in software test infrastructure and evaluating correctness, performance, and architecture
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and software-in-the-loop (SITL) simulations
- Proficiency with Linux and software test/build/deploy lifecycle
- Proven ability to lead technical design and mentor engineerscross-functional collaborationtechnical leadershipmentoring
