MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data and Application Platform Manager to join our team in Herndon, VA.This is a hybrid position. This role is responsible for the unified management and operational excellence of database and application environments. The Data Application Platform Manager will accelerate the deployment of approved changes and updates, optimize database performance, and drive automation to reduce operational downtime. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Oracle/SQL platforms with strong application lifecycle management skills to lead modernization efforts and maintain 24x7x365 operational readinessResponsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToOversee the daily operations of both database and application support teams, ensuring seamless service delivery for globally dispersed systems. Support the transition to modernized databases and applications and assist in migration initiatives to cloud or hybrid environments. Ensure all databases and applications meet security standards, managing remediation of vulnerabilities, patching, and compliance with information assurance policies. Implement and manage automated maintenance tasks, diagnostic health checks, and self-learning/self-healing corrective actions to improve system resilience. Manage and develop a cross-functional support staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing technical team. Ensure database performance, availability, and capacity meet defined service levels and comply with government regulations and policies. Analyze databases performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application support efficiency and effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications7+ years of experience managing database administration and/or application support teams for enterprise projects. Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage practices.Demonstrated experience supporting both modernized (web-based) and legacy (client/server) applications and databases. Exposure to cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.Strong technical understanding of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms. Experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.Experience with DevOps/CI/CD principles. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification. Preferred QualificationsCertificationsOCI Architect or Developer ProfessionalMicrosoft SQL Server CertificationSAFe/Agile CertifiedCompTIA Security+Experience with Oracle Exadata, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances (ZDLRA) Experience with projecting and planning for long-range database requirements and designExperience with database quality control, auditing, and securing data in a high-compliance government environment Experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and programmingClearance RequirementsMust hold an active Secret security clearance. Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
