Leadership Development Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD
On-site at Alpha School campuses located in Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY$150,000 annual W2 salary, distributed weekly. Health benefits begin on day one.Relocation assistance available for candidates committing to one full school year on campusYou hold the conviction that refusing to lower standards is the most compassionate act you can offer a student. Your background includes competing, creating, or excelling at a level most people encounter only through observation: elite-level athletics, distinguished graduation from a top-tier university, entry into a highly selective organization, or launching a venture from the ground up. Now imagine channeling that drive into a setting with K-12 students who have never encountered someone with your caliber of experience willing to hold them to standards they didn't realize they could meet. If the concept of maintaining elite expectations for students strikes you as unreasonable, this role is not for you.Alpha employs AI-driven 1-on-1 learning systems that enable students to complete core academic requirements in roughly two hours daily. This structure opens the remainder of each day for cultivating life skills, pursuing passion projects, and fostering genuine development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than basic oversight. They need a credible mentor whose personal accomplishments establish the benchmark: someone capable of assessing group dynamics, establishing cultural expectations, and guiding students through resistance, distraction, and internal doubt.Your role is not instructional. AI systems deliver academic content. Your responsibility is to inspire, coach, and hold students to the same rigorous standards you've applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time involves direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious objectives. Another forty percent is spent facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent focuses on establishing daily expectations through concentrated morning sessions that build a culture rejecting mediocrity. The progression here emphasizes depth over advancement. You begin by mastering Alpha's methodology and establishing credibility with students. Within months, you become the trusted figure they allow to challenge their perceived limits. The payoff is not a title change. It's the privilege of working with the same students year after year, remaining in their corner as they mature. It's observing a student who avoided eye contact in September deliver a confident presentation to adult audiences in May.This position remains student-centered. Students represent the purpose, not a platform for career advancement. If your motivation to leave your current position stems from mission alignment rather than resume building, submit your application now. What You Will Be DoingConducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious objectives, and maintain accountability for executionFacilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery, drawing on credible narratives from your own elite background, then evaluating mastery through Alpha's Test2Pass frameworkEstablishing cultural expectations each morning through concentrated kickoff sessions that reinforce high-performance standards campus-wideMonitoring student advancement in real time and modifying coaching approaches based on data rather than intuitionDeveloping trusted mentorship relationships with students and families through consistent high standards and documented motivation strategiesWhat You Won’t Be DoingDelivering lessons, creating curriculum, or evaluating assignments — Alpha's AI-driven academic platform manages instruction; you manage motivationAddressing a classroom of 30 students (your work emphasizes high-touch coaching in intimate groups, not lecture-based teaching)Supervising additional staff or pursuing an administrative career path (this position focuses on direct student outcomes, not organizational advancement)Attending faculty meetings or maneuvering through institutional bureaucracy (your schedule remains student-focused)Reducing standards to achieve targets (if a student achieved 99%, your role is determining what prevented 100%)Leadership Development Coach Key ResponsibilitiesDrive exceptional student motivation, growth, and life-skill mastery at Alpha's highest-expectation campuses.Basic RequirementsBachelor's degreeAt least one instance of exceptional achievement in a highly selective, globally recognized domain (examples: national or international competition medals, top-tier university with distinction, highly selective firm or fellowship, elite performing arts institution, or founding and scaling a successful venture)At least 3 years of experience in student coaching, youth mentoring, athletic coaching, or leadership roles where you measurably raised others' performanceWilling to work in-person at an Alpha campus in Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation support provided)Legal right to work in the United StatesNice-to-have RequirementsBackground in elite competitive athletics (varsity D1, national team, or professional level) with experience coaching or mentoring younger athletesExperience in high-accountability environments like management consulting, investment banking, or military leadershipTrack record of youth development through mentoring in non-academic settings (community organizations, after-school programs, sports camps)Comfort presenting to and building trust with high-expectation families paying premium private school tuitionAbout AlphaWant to join a learning rebellion that’s transforming the traditional classroom?
