Industrial Painter & Blaster

DescriptionBroadwind Industrial Solutions is adding an Industrial Painter & Blaster to join our team in Sanford, NC. This position will operate painting and blasting equipment using the knowledge of paint and steel properties and practices according to the manufacturer's specifications. The Painter & Blaster will follow customer specifications to determine surface finish and mil. thickness acceptability levels.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May include some or all of the following responsibilities)Responsible for performing all assigned painting and blasting duties in a professional mannerAssist in performing inside and outside painting and blasting duties in a productive manner to include:Preparing surfaces before paintingApplying specified coatings of paintPreparing paint and blast by mixing components accurately * Perform all activities in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and regulationsUtilize standard blast and paint equipment such as conventional and airless spray equipment, motorized lifts, brushes, rollers and other related equipmentReview paint manufactures specs in addition to customer requirements and apply as requiredDispose of residual materials appropriatelyPerform other related duties as assignedRequirementsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED required. Prior work related experience strongly preferred.One+ year of industrial painting / blasting experience required, epoxy paint experience preferredKnowledge of materials, production processes, quality, raw materials and other techniques, methods and tools involved in the process of painting industrial structuresAny equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education or skill in the painting of industrial structures approved by Management/Human Resources.PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
