The business offers comprehensive freight forwarding solutions across air and ocean, supporting a diverse client base and a wide range of global trade lanes.As part of its continued growth, the company is looking to strengthen its Chicago operations team with an experienced import specialist.About the RoleThis is an onsite position based in Chicago, IL, focused on managing international import shipments across both air and ocean freight.You will be responsible for handling shipments end-to-end (A–Z), ensuring smooth coordination from origin through to final delivery. This role requires a hands-on operator who is confident managing multiple shipments, communicating with clients, and ensuring compliance with all import procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesManage air and ocean import shipments from start to finish (A–Z)Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, and clients to ensure timely movement of cargoPrepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and complianceTrack shipments and proactively resolve delays or issuesCommunicate directly with clients, providing updates and managing expectationsEnsure compliance with all regulatory and internal proceduresWork closely with internal teams including customs brokerage and accountingCandidate RequirementsProven experience in air and ocean import operations within freight forwardingStrong understanding of end-to-end shipment processes (A–Z)Experience handling documentation, tracking, and client communicationAbility to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsClear communication skills and a team-oriented approachWhat You Can ExpectOnsite role based in Chicago, ILExposure to a wide range of international shipments and trade lanesStable and structured operational environmentOpportunity to further develop within import operationsLong-term career growth within a growing logistics business
