Hiring: GMS Applications Engineer (Power Systems + IT)Remote (Quarterly Onsite) Duration: 12+ months ContractWe are looking for a hands-on GMS Applications Engineer to join the Grid & Market Solutions (GMS) engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of power systems engineering and IT, supporting real-time grid operations and critical control room applications.🚀 Role OverviewThis is a high-impact individual contributor role combining:⚡ Power System Applications (50%)💻 IT / System Support (50%)You’ll work on mission-critical applications such as state estimation, contingency analysis, power flow, and grid optimization, ensuring reliability and performance of real-time systems.🔧 Key ResponsibilitiesSupport control room applications (State Estimator, AGC, Contingency Analysis, etc.)Perform model loads, validation, and production deploymentTroubleshoot application, data, and system issuesCollaborate with internal teams and vendors for enhancements and upgradesDevelop test scripts, conduct testing, and manage releasesSupport weekly grid model loads (occasional late-night rotations)Work across production and simulation/training environments (OTS)🧠 Required SkillsStrong experience in power system applications (real-time grid systems)Hands-on Linux (server access, command-line operations)Python scripting (automation, small utilities)Oracle database knowledge (queries, tables, data updates)Experience with application/system support in engineering environments⭐ Preferred QualificationsExperience with EMS platforms (GE, Siemens, AspenTech, Hitachi)Familiarity with GE e-terra / HabitatKnowledge of ICCP (EMS-focused)Exposure to grid optimization / frequency control applicationsMaster’s degree in Power Systems
