Job Requirements Starting Salary: $47,476 yearlyAll Shifts As a Food Service manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the food service department by leading and supporting the team, ensuring food quality and safety, and delivering fast, friendly service. Keeps the department organized, well-staffed, and running smoothly. What you will do as a Food Service Manager Assists the Store Manager in overseeing the total operation of the food service department including managing staff, monitoring store profitability and managing budgets. Assists in determining appropriate levels of staff necessary to ensure efficient operations of the food service department and schedules employees accordingly. Is the primary trainer of new staff. Ensures that all food is prepared following approved recipes and appearance guidelines. Ensures that food is prepared, served and stored in accordance with proper handling/sanitation procedures. Create and maintain cleaning schedules, sanitation checklists, and equipment care routines Place orders for food, packaging, and supply inventory while staying within budget guidelines. Perform weekly inventory counts and variance reporting. Monitor supplier deliveries and verify accuracy of received goods. Maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning logs, and food-handling documentation. Monitor product levels, rotations, and expiration dates to reduce waste and ensure freshness. Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the food service area; duties may include mopping floors, cleaning counters, sweeping floors and cleaning coolers, freezers, and equipment. Supervises daily performance of food service staff, providing both corrective and positive feedback. Prepares food using a variety of equipment such as ovens, fryers and slicers. Takes food orders and prepares to customer's specifications while ensuring fast, superior service. Attends regularly scheduled food service leader meetings held by operations management. Operates Point-of-Sale system, accepts payments from guests and issues correct change. Ensures the accuracy of the starting bank, makes up the ending bank and prepares bank deposits. Corrects all voids and errors as they occur. Work Experience Key attributes we're seeking as a Food Service Manager are:High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required. Associate's Degree with emphasis in Management/Business preferred. One to two years food service experience is required, preferably in a convenience store setting. SERV safe manager or equivalent certification required. Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 41 - 50 pounds.
