Chief of Staff
One of the fastest growing Applied AI companies in San Francisco is looking to hire a Chief of Staff to work side by side with the CEO as they enter a critical phase of international growth.The person we are looking for will own the end-to-end build-out of their international teams: identifying markets, hiring in-country operating leaders, establishing local operating rhythms, and ensuring the CEO has clear, real-time visibility into everything. This role is for someone who thrives on complexity, moves fast, and gets things done with maniacal urgency.What you'll ownLead international expansion operations — identify new markets, build local hiring pipelines, and stand up operating structures in each country from the ground up.Source, recruit, and onboard in-country operating leaders (General Managers, Country Leads, Ops Directors) who can run each market semi-autonomously.Design and manage operating cadences across international offices — weekly check-ins, escalation paths, and reporting structures.Serve as the CEO's eyes and ears globally — synthesize what's happening in each market and deliver crisp, actionable reporting up the chain.Identify operational gaps and blockers before they become problems; build systems and processes that scale as headcount grows.Coordinate across Finance, Legal, People, and Product to ensure international operations are supported and compliant in each jurisdiction.Act as a trusted proxy for the CEO in key operational meetings and with external stakeholders when needed.What we're looking for4–10 years of experience in operations, management consulting, or a high-growth startup in a senior ops or strategy role — ideally with international scope.Proven experience hiring and managing cross-functional teams across multiple geographies or time zones.Exceptional organizational skills — you can hold 12 things in parallel and nothing slips through.Strong written and verbal communicator who can distill complex, multi-market situations into clear executive summaries.Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with limited playbooks.
