Feed Mill Operator – Brandon, SD (Contract to Direct Hire) Pay: $20/per hour Shift: Must be open to 1st Shift (4am-1pm) and 2nd Shift, 12pm–9pm (Monday–Friday) Additional overtime available during peak periods About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Feed Mill Operator for a full‑time, contract to direct‑hire opportunity in Brandon, SD. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with equipment, staying active throughout the day, and contributing to the production of high‑quality livestock feed. No prior feed mill experience is required — full training is provided. As a Feed Mill Operator, you will support daily mill operations, ensure safe and efficient production, and help maintain a clean, well‑run facility. Responsibilities Operate feed mill equipment including grinders, mixers, and batching/pelleting systems Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients; load and unload trucks Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality Perform routine equipment maintenance such as greasing, inspections, and minor troubleshooting Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through daily housekeeping and spill cleanup Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards while meeting production targets Minimum Qualifications Must meet minimum age requirements 1+ years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture, or general labor Preferred Qualifications Experience operating loaders, conveyors, tractors, or track mobile equipment Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons High school diploma or GED Agriculture experience Forklift certification Physical Requirements Ability to work independently for extended periods Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, and work at heights up to 120 ft Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently Ability to wear required PPE (respirator, hard hat, eye/ear protection) Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all‑weather conditions Compensation & Benefits This direct‑hire Feed Mill Operator role offers: Competitive hourly pay of $20/hr Eligibility for overtime during peak periods Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, life insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, and more (subject to plan eligibility) Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance On-the-job training Paid time off Referral program Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Experience: Feed mill Operator: 1 year (Preferred) Grinders: 1 year (Preferred) Troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred) Batching systems: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Brandon, SD 57005 (Required) Work Location: In person
