Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

Vina Pharmacy is a locally-owned pharmacy that serves the Central Austin community. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer. We are willing to train the right person if necessary. The ideal candidate has the ability to multi-task, processing prescription claims from start to finish in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely, and accurately to fill patient prescriptions all while providing a unique customer experience. The candidate must be detail-oriented, able to remember procedures, and see tasks through to completion. They must also be dependable and come to work with minimal absences. Candidate must have a valid driver's license as the position may require delivery of medication to patients' home. Additional duties include answering incoming phone calls, maintaining an organized work environment, and assisting customers with purchases. Pay is based on experience and performance, and preference will be given to applicants with previous experience. However, no experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Ideal Requirements: Extraordinary customer service Excellent and efficient data entry skills Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy Six months to one year retail pharmacy experience Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for 8 hours Bilingual English/ Spanish or English/Vietnamese Computer Rx Software Experience Responsibilities: Greet and welcome all customers Prescription and over-the-counter sales Meet patient counseling and regulatory compliance standards Receive written and electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate Enter and maintain prescription data using pharmacy software system Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions Communicate with patients regarding status of prescriptions and possible delays Contact doctor’s offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information and initiate refill requests Resolve prescription insurance claims with third-party payers Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and affixing proper labels Maintain ongoing medication inventory How to Apply: Please submit a cover letter and resume Job Types: Part-time (10 - 25 hours/week) .
