UG Surveyor Responsibilities: Performing all required field/office survey functions and associated technical design support involved with underground mine operations. Including but not limited to:Prospect and drill hole locationsDaily spad control for underground miningPlots mining information and works up coal contour elevationsKeeps underground maps current, which includes updating spad locations, elevations, and ventilation as necessaryOperates total station to run underground control re-surveysVerifies location of tracks, belts and overcasts; updates ventilationMay provide guidance and direction to field survey crewsOperates standard surveying equipment, such as levels and measuring devicesMay prepare routine reports such as reclamation, royalty, number of drill holes in the field and impoundment reports on a weekly/monthly basis, as well as quarterly estimates of coal productionInspect impoundments and provide construction control and layout Qualifications:WV UG Miners CertificationMinimum of one year of mine survey and volumetric experience.Associate degree (or vocational equivalent) in surveying is preferred.Previous experience with Windows based computer systems, AutoCAD mapping systems, volumetric systems, and volumetric analysis is required.Experience with total station survey equipment, survey control networks, and GPS survey equipment is required.
