Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and exceptional customer service abilities. This role is vital in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Shift Leader will play a key role in managing staff, controlling inventory, and upholding our commitment to excellent hospitality and culinary excellence. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards. Lead staff training and development initiatives, including onboarding new team members and providing ongoing coaching. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards. Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control food and beverage costs. Ensure proper food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices are followed at all times. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Assist in managing restaurant budgets, scheduling staff shifts, and conducting performance evaluations. Support kitchen management tasks including food production, catering events, banquet services, and bar operations if applicable. Uphold hospitality standards across all areas of the restaurant including casual dining, fine dining, hotel outlets, or catering services. Experience Proven management experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant environment; casual dining or fine dining experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervisory or team management roles in the food industry. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety protocols. Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling expertise required. Background in hospitality management including staff training, customer service excellence, and restaurant operations. Previous experience in inventory control, budgeting, and food management is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and develop team members effectively.
