Job TypePart-timeDescriptionCESA 6 is looking for a vibrant, self motivated Russian Interpreter / Translator to join our team! This is a limited term, non-benefited hourly position that works on an as needed basis.The Interpreter/Translator is responsible for accurately interpreting verbal communication and translating written documents for partner school districts. This position supports schools in fostering clear communication with students, families, and staff who are non-native English speakers. The Interpreter/Translator will report directly to the Language and Culture Center lead consultant.Essential FunctionsProvide interpretation services during meetings, conferences, and other school-related events. Translate written materials, including letters, reports, forms, and educational resources, from the Source Language to English and vice versa, ensuring accurate and context-appropriate translations. Communicate regularly with the LCC consultant, regarding task completion and project updates. Track and document time, travel, and task completion; submit reports within one week of task completion. Utilize an agency-provided email account for all work-related communications. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information and follow professional standards of conduct. Perform other related duties as assigned to support school district needs. RequirementsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Experience, Education And LicensureAssociate Degree in education or a related field is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Prior experience as an interpreter or translator, especially in an educational setting, is preferred. Proficiency in both English and Source Language (spoken and written). Work accurately with close attention to detail. Exhibit a high degree of confidentiality of sensitive information and process and handle confidential information with discretion. Work effectively, professionally and tactfully with internal agency staff and external clients. Ability to set and meet high standards of customer service (internal and external). Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the workforce. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor. Professionally represent the agency and public, private and parochial school districts in interactions with staff, customers and community. Facilitate an overall work environment of mutual respect and collaboration. Work EnvironmentWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to work in a professional and flexible office environment, with or without visual and audible distractions. Ability to work in multiple settings, including varied agency, school or work-related sites. Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing. Ability to travel between districts.. The employee may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
