Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper techniques to ensure high-quality specimens.
Collect specimens accurately while adhering to laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.
Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure safe and effective specimen collection.
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly, maintaining comfort, and demonstrating empathy throughout the process.
Document all collection details precisely in accordance with medical terminology standards and hospital protocols.
Maintain proper specimen labeling, handling, and transportation to ensure integrity during processing.
Follow infection control guidelines and safety protocols diligently during all procedures and interactions.
Experience
Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience with a focus on specimen collection is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and blood sampling.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to blood collection procedures.
Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments that require adherence to strict safety standards.
Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
