DEPARTMENT: YBI Engine Tech IncubatorJOB TITLE: YBI Engine Outreach CoordinatorREPORTS TO: Sr. Director, YBI Engine Tech Incubator SALARY BAND: $45-47k Full Time POSITION SUMMARYYBI Engine is seeking an outgoing, mission-driven Outreach Coordinator to serve as the voice of our organization throughout the region. This role is ideal for a relationship-builder who thrives on engaging with diverse stakeholders—from government officials to local business leaders, educators, and community groups.The Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in promoting YBI’s entrepreneurial programs and services, scheduling and coordinating events, increasing visibility, and building strong partnerships to advance regional economic development. This position involves regional travel throughout Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Ashtabula & Carroll Counties RESPONSIBILITIESOutreach & EventsPlan and coordinate events, both in-person and virtual, showcasing YBI Engine’s entrepreneurial services across the regionRepresent YBI at public events, business meetings, government functions, and community forums.Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and state officials, business leaders, and community stakeholders.Program PromotionEducate external audiences about YBI Engine’s various offerings, including business incubation, additive manufacturing and innovation hub initiatives, and entrepreneurial support across the region.Distribute marketing materials and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all YBI services and current initiatives.Partnership DevelopmentIdentify and initiate partnerships that align with YBI’s mission and strategic goals.Serve as a connector between the community and YBI staff to facilitate collaboration and referrals.Public Speaking & EngagementDeliver or coordinate presentations to community groups, chambers of commerce, government bodies, and schools when appropriateRepresent YBI in media appearances, interviews, and at public engagement opportunities.Administrative, Feedback & ReportingAttend all internal Engine meetings as requested by Sr. Director and all YBI staff-related meetings and events.Gather community feedback to inform Engine’s outreach strategies and program development.Provide regular updates and reports on outreach activities, opportunities, and challenges upon request.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience coordinating events – in person and virtualExperience with public relations, community outreach, government affairsAbility to speak comfortably in public settings and represent a professional organizationFamiliarity with the economic and civic landscape of the Youngstown regionComfort utilizing Microsoft 365, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Video conferencing toolsKEY TRAITSPersonable, outgoing, and professional demeanorSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyPolitically and culturally savvy; able to engage across diverse audiencesEnthusiastic about YBI’s mission and vision for economic transformationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related fieldExisting relationships with local government, economic development organizations, or business associationsPassion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional developmentCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSCompetitive salary based on experienceMileage and travel reimbursementOpportunities for professional development and networking*NOTIFICATIONSThe above statements are intended to provide an understanding of the major duties and responsibilities to be performed by the incumbent in this role.
