Welfare & Accommodation ManagerOur academies offer students aged 13-17 from all over the world the opportunity to join us in prestigious locations renowned for their academic excellence, to take part in a truly unique and exciting academic summer school experience. Our programme has been developed to nurture visionary future leaders who aspire to make a difference and be better prepared to succeed in an interconnected world.The Welfare & Accommodation Manager leads the welfare and safeguarding structure within the summer school to create a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff. In addition the welfare & accommodation manager supports our best practice and compliant room allocation of everyone resident on campus, ensures relevant damage checks are carried out before arrival and pre departure. The welfare & accommodation manager is the main point of contact for the university staff in relation to accommodation and catering requirements. They also oversee our guardian system and ensure our activity leaders are trained and aware of their responsibilities as guardians for our students. Our welfare managers work 6 days out of 7 and this is a residential role. We provide full board accommodation as part of the contract.Key Responsibilities:Promote and ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students and staff including managing our guardian system effectivelyResponsible for checking original staff documentation and the completion of the single central register with support from the centre managerMaximise student satisfaction by ensuring their experience exceeds expectationsEnsure that the correct implementation and subsequent follow ups of the welfare and health & safety systems are in place under guidance from the centre manager and head officeTrain the centre team in welfare and safeguarding procedures and ensure appropriate action is followed where issues of health, safety or welfare ariseEnsure all students' dietary, medical, and additional needs are reviewed and relevant stakeholders informedAssist with / manage any relevant centre administration, ensuring accuracy and timely submissionAssist the management team with students arrivals, departures and welcome orientationManage the departure transfer logistics, including the booking of transport were necessaryTo support the centre management team to meet operational needsEssential criteria:Ability to inspire others to deliver outstanding student experiencesExperience of working with young people age 13-17Fluency in EnglishExcellent organisational and admin skillsPractical working knowledge of MS Office packages including ExcelDesired criteria:Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices in safeguarding minorsValid First Aid CertificateExperience of working in a residential environment, ideally in a summer school / campExperience of working with non-native speakers of EnglishPersonal Attributes:A passion for inspiring young people to aspire to be moreAbility to lead and engage team membersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organisational and planning skillsAn empathetic nature that supports student safeguarding and wellbeingAbility to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlinesDemonstrate the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young peopleFlexible, self-motivated and someone who works well within a team in a fast paced and dynamic environmentTraining & Induction:We provide both online and face to face training for all employees.
