We function as a complete code department, supporting projects from initial plan review through final inspection and occupancy. We emphasize professionalism, sound code interpretation, and practical field experience.Position Overview CAI is seeking an experienced Commercial Building Code Inspector to join our team. This position involves a combination of commercial inspections and plan review. The role requires independent decision making, strong code knowledge, and the ability to manage active projects without constant oversight. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with contractors, design professionals, and municipal clients while maintaining consistent and defensible code enforcement.Compensation and Benefits Range typically between $75,000 and $120,000 based on experience and certifications Compensation includes Sign on bonus for qualified candidates Performance based bonuses paid multiple times per year Benefits include Health, dental, and vision insurance payed by employer 401k 3 weeks paid time offWork Environment This position is based in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and involves a mix of field inspections and office based plan review. CAI provides a stable workload, consistent project flow, and a full support team needed to perform at a high level. Responsibilities Perform commercial building inspections across multiple disciplines Conduct plan reviews for code compliance and constructability Interpret and apply building codes in field and office settings Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and owners Support projects from permit through completion Maintain clear and accurate inspection and review documentation Qualifications Experience in commercial building inspections and or plan review Strong working knowledge of ICC codes and local enforcement practices Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Strong communication and problem solving skills Valid driver's license with great driving historyrecblid 4v1fzpo3nrle9z8562y38v6sle2b7d
