Salem - Part Time Bus Driver Substitute - 26-27 School YearSalem - Salem, UT 84653Job Summary:An APA bus driver will work for a morning and afternoon shift. Shifts are from 6:00 - 8:30 am and 2:00-4:30 pm. Bus drivers may drive students to and from school, as well as school sponsored events.Duties/Responsibilities:Transport children and other passengers to and from schoolObey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive to their destination safelyMaintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all timesEnsure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the busAssist students with getting on and off the bus as neededEngage with students as they enter and exit the busRequired Skills/Abilities:Must possess emotional maturityWillingness to cooperate with the alms of the programRespect for children and adultsFlexibility, patience, good personal hygienePhysical and mental health which does not interfere with responsibilitiesMust have good verbal communication skills and visual ability to observe childrenAbility to fulfill responsibilities under pressure, including during emergency situationsProven work experience as a School Bus Driver or similar roleClean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five yearsTwo or more years of experience working with children preferredAbility to carry out assigned route on timeEducation/Experience:Must have a Commercial Driver's License - must possess a valid Class B and Passenger and School Bus endorsementsMust be at least 18 years of age or olderMust be able to comply with a background check as required by the Agency or IDCFSWorking Conditions:Risk of exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissuesRisk involved with travel on main highways, side streets and rural roads during the transportation of childrenRisk of exposure to communicable diseasesMust be able to lift 55 pounds, many times a dayMust be able to climb into the bus, walk, bend, kneel and squat frequentlyThe qualifications listed above are guidelines for selection purposes; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform the dutiesSalary and Schedule:Up to $26.00 per hourShifts are from 6:00 - 8:30 am and 2:00-4:30 pm Monday through FridayUp to 25 hours per week
