To support the teams working on our exciting projects, we are looking forChief of Staff - Sector LeadsIn the United States - Chicago We are seeking a senior Chief of Staff to act as a force multiplier for two Partners leading high-growth sectors within the Americas region at Simon-Kucher. This is a highly visible leadership platform role designed to support both regional strategy development and operational execution and is explicitly designed as a platform-enabling leadership role, not a personal assistant or coordinator position. The Chief of Staff will drive execution discipline, elevate strategic narrative, orchestrate leadership forums, and ensure sector priorities translate into measurable growth. The role is intentionally positioned at the intersection of strategy and execution. It requires strong commercial acumen, operational rigor, executive presence, and the ability to drive alignment across a complex, matrixed organization. Success in this role will directly contribute to sustained 15-20% annual sector growth by improving prioritization, execution speed, and leadership focus. Be empowered to do your best work - whether it's from home or in the office.How you will create an impact:Core Responsibilities:Sector Strategy & Initiative Orchestration (Joint - ~30%)Maintain a single, prioritized sector backlog and initiative trackerTranslate strategic priorities into structured plans with owners and milestonesDrive alignment across practices and senior stakeholdersDrive alignment and execution with central functions (e.g., CRM, Knowledge Management, Marketing, ...) to ensure effective delivery of cross-sector strategic initiativesSurface trade-offs and propose prioritization recommendationsPrepare and facilitate monthly strategic reviewsDrive continuous assessment of processes and ways of working to identify improvement opportunities, increase efficiency, and enhance alignment across officesCapture and synthesize team feedback to ensure alignment and effective translation of strategic initiatives into operational executionExecution & Follow-Through Discipline - this role exists so that senior leadership time is spent on decisions and growth-not chasing execution.Ensure decisions result in clear actions, owners, and timelinesProactively track and unblock initiativesEscalate risks early with solution-oriented recommendationsEliminate follow-up burden from both PartnersNarrative, Storyline & Forum Design - the Chief of Staff acts as a producer and orchestrator, not just an operatorDesign leadership meeting agendas with clear objectives and outputsEnforce pre-work and preparation standardsImprove meeting quality, energy, and strategic focusDraft and refine high-quality decks, memos, POVs, and thought leadershipSupport cross-practice narrative alignmentPartner-Specific Leverage (~35% each)Prepare strategic briefs and synthesis for key client interactionsSupport priority pursuits and positioningProvide structured decision supportHelp shape thought leadership and external visibility effortsTalent & Platform DevelopmentSupport senior hiring and succession discussionsIdentify leadership development opportunitiesCoordinate consultant resources aligned to sector prioritiesManage structured leverage from consultants assigned to key initiativesAuthority & Operating ModelThe Chief of Staff is empowered to: Shape leadership agendas and operating rhythmsRecommend prioritization and sequencingPush back on low-value or misaligned requestsEscalate priority conflictsFollow up directly with senior stakeholdersAbout You:Experience10-15+ years of experience years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or equivalent leadership environmentPrior experience as a Chief of Staff, strategy consultant, or operational leader in a high-performance professional services settingDemonstrated success working directly with senior executives and driving cross-functional initiativesCapabilitiesExceptional structured thinking and synthesisStrong commercial and financial acumenProven ability to translate strategy into operational executionExecutive-level communication and narrative developmentAbility to influence across a matrixed organization without formal authorityComfort operating across multiple senior stakeholdersPersonal AttributesHigh integrity and discretionLow ego, high ownership mindsetComfortable constructively challenging senior leadersEnergized by complexity, scale, and growthThe pay range for this position is $200,000 - $225,000/year. Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
