Education License (PEL) with LBS1 Pre K through Age 21 EndorsementREPORTS TO:Building PrincipalPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional Planning & Knowledge of Subject Matter1) Establishes specific learning objectives2) Plans for a variety of methods and materials appropriate to lesson objectives3) Provides for differences of abilities, achievement levels and learning styles asappropriate to subject and matter4) Program emphasis is on the development of critical academic, communication,social, and life skills through a collaborative team-based approach.5 )Maintains concise written lesson plans in accordance with the established format6) Plans evaluation of student achievement in relation to stated objectives7) Utilizes a variety diagnostic and assessment information8) Adheres to district curriculum guidelines, time limits and objectives9) Demonstrates a knowledge of subject matter and incorporates this knowledge inlesson development10) Accepts responsibility for the safety and well-being of the students whilechildren are on the school premises11) Utilizes the elements of principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, VerbalBehavior, and structured teaching.12) Daily instruction focuses on communication, socialization, daily living skills,leisure skills, motor development, community-based instruction, healthmanagement, vocational training/instruction, behavior management, and assistivetechnology.Instructional Implementation & Classroom Management1) Makes students aware of lesson objective(s)2) Reflects previously stated objectives in classroom presentation and/or activities3) Uses a variety of methods of instruction such as lecture, discovery, discussionand student practice associated with individual student observation and assistance4) Uses probing questioning techniques to determine or establish understanding ofconcepts, relationships and feedback5) Uses a variety of and sufficient evaluative procedure such as written and oral testsand evaluation of continued use of skills in language activities6) Creates a positive learning environment and provides for complementaryphysical arrangement and décor of the classroom to support instructional method7) Monitors students continually to develop on task behavior8) Creates an appropriate atmosphere, using contact time efficiently9) Demonstrates enthusiasm and exhibits high expectations for students10) Makes learning presentation appropriate to students abilities and capable ofholding students' interests11) Maintains appropriate communication with students12) Provides opportunities for all students to experience success13) Demonstrates respect of, is tolerant of, and is fair to all studentsPROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1) Provides concise and timely oral and/or written reports to parents2) Maintains accurate and sufficient records of student progress and behavior3) Develops standards of behavior, presents standards to students and consistentlyadheres to expected student behaviors and associated consequences4) Adheres to and enforces established school discipline policies5) Accepts appropriate share of responsibility for total school operation6) Uses a professional manner in dealing with students, co-workers, parentsand community7) Performs such other professional duties and responsibilities as may be assignedby the principal and/or district administration8) Other than for serious and/or extended illness, does not exhibit excessive orpatterns of absences exceeding yearly sick leave allotment.9) Reports for work day, staff meetings and other time commitments in a punctualmanner10) Addresses the need for each child and young adult to develop the academic andfunctional life skills necessary for adult life and to experience social interactionsand relationships with peers in educational and community environments.EVALUATION: In accordance with District Policy and Administrative ProceduresSALARY: Based on training and experience
