Civil CAD Technician Independence Excavating

Independence Excavating is seeking a Civil CAD Technician to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and coordinating the development of roadway base map surveys. Leave the world a better place than we found it.Essential Responsibilities:Prepare technical drawings and coordinate the development of roadway base map surveys, with exposure to various site civil projects including preliminary plans and construction documentsInterpret construction drawings and specifications for commercial projects to calculate quantities for bid proposalsUse digitizing software to create 3D models for accurate earthwork quantity estimationsAnalyze soil boring reports to assess potential impacts on productionIdentify utility materials required based on project drawings and specificationsCommunicate any discrepancies or issues encountered during bid preparation to the EstimatorAssist Surveyors in generating GPS data for automated field equipmentPerform additional tasks and responsibilities as assignedDo you have what it takes?Proficient in AutoCAD and Earthwork 3D softwareExperience in civil site development, including volume land calculations, 2D and 3D area computations, isopachs, tick maps, grading plans, and roadway design is a strong plusBasic ability to interpret record utility drawings, generate site contours, and utilize field survey points when availableFamiliarity with Trimble Business Center is a plusHighly task-oriented with strong energy and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, especially under tight deadlinesDemonstrates a strong willingness to learn, with a high level of trainabilityWillingness to travel occasionally as neededWhy IX?Weekly Competitive Pay!Excellent Benefits:MedicalDentalVisionFSA & HSALife Insurance + Optional Family Life InsuranceShort-term and Long-term DisabilityWellness Incentive ProgramPaid Holidays and PTO401(k) + Company matchTuition ReimbursementFamily-owned and operated since 1956Who is IX?From breaking ground to the finished project, our team has been laying the groundwork for excellence on heavy civil construction and demolition projects for over 65 years.
