SHARPS TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Facility ManagerClassification: Non-ExemptSummaryThe Sharps Tech will support the business, including manual labor associated with on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various programs, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, and Controlled Substances, and other duties as assigned. This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities. Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.Pay range $22.00 - $24.00 per hourPrimary Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesEnsures waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained, and accurate tracking logs are keptTravel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Sharps and Pharmaceutical Management SystemsInteracts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceededMaintains a rigid collection and service schedule Communicates duty status on a defined scheduledParticipates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetingsMaintains a minimal amount of manifest errorsMaintains compliance with applicable environmental, safety and transportation regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT)Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor.Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetingsMay provide support or direction to less experienced techniciansWears required personal protective equipmentPerforms labor intensive activities such as walking long distances while pushing/pulling service cartsPerforms other related duties as required or requestedQualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or GED (accredited) is requiredValid Driver’s License is requiredAbility to Maintain required mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirementsEXPECTED HOURS OF WORKAble to work an agreed upon standard schedule Additional hours as job duties demandTravel - OtherTravel to domestic Trilogy facilities when necessary (less than 10%)Must have a current, valid driver's licenseAble to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policyWORK CONDITIONSPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
