Production Support Technician

Job Description POSITION SUMMARYThe Production Support Technician provides critical finishing and pack-out support to ensure machined components are clean, defect-free, and ready for shipment. This role is responsible for deburring, part finishing, visual verification, and protective packaging of precision aerospace and industrial components. Working closely with machinists, quality, and shipping, this person helps ensure every part meets customer expectations for appearance, handling, and delivery readiness.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform deburring, edge-breaking, and basic hand-finishing of machined aluminum, steel, and titanium parts using appropriate tools and techniquesConduct visual and dimensional checks on finished parts prior to packaging, referencing work orders and customer requirementsPackage precision components per customer and internal packaging standards, including protective wrapping, labeling, and documentationAccurately complete production travelers, packing lists, and shipping documentationMaintain an organized and clean work area consistent with 5S/lean principlesStage finished goods and coordinate with shipping/receiving as neededCommunicate part condition issues or discrepancies to quality or machining personnelSupport other production functions as directed by shop floor supervisionREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience in a manufacturing, production, or machine shop environment preferredAbility to handle precision machined parts with care; understanding of surface finish and cosmetic quality expectationsComfortable working with hand tools including files, deburring tools, and basic measurement instrumentsAbility to read work orders, part labels, and basic drawingsStrong attention to detail and quality consciousnessReliable, team-oriented, and able to maintain pace in a production environmentAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periodsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience deburring or finishing metal parts (aluminum, steel, stainless, or titanium)Familiarity with packaging requirements for aerospace or defense componentsBasic understanding of GD&T or print readingExperience in an ISO 9001-certified facility
