Think of us as the travel buddy who handles the logistics while you focus on what you do best helping people heal.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide compassionate Phase I and Phase II PACU care for ambulatory/outpatient surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery from anesthesiaPerform thorough pre-op assessments and obtain operative/procedural consent as requiredStart and maintain IVs and perform phlebotomy confidently to support perioperative needsAdminister, monitor and document medications including emergency meds, opioid analgesics and reversal agents, following safety protocolsMonitor and interpret patient status and lab values; escalate concerns and collaborate with the interdisciplinary teamEducate patients and caregivers with clear discharge instructions and follow-up guidance to support smooth transitions homeRespond to and follow malignant hyperthermia protocol and other critical event procedures when neededAccurately document all patient care in EPIC and support continuity of care through timely chartingQualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) — PACU role (title indicates RN required)2 years of experience in Ambulatory/Outpatient settings, Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery or Pre/Post care (per role requirements)EPIC charting experience is REQUIREDTravel experience required (open to local and non-local candidates); reliable transportation is expectedBLS required; ACLS preferredProven IV therapy and phlebotomy skills — able to start and maintain IVsComfort with a 1:1 patient ratio in recovery and experience with endoscopy and a variety of surgical specialtiesAbility to complete a 40-hour orientation and adapt to variable weekday shift start timesKnowledge & SkillsPACU care: Phase I and Phase II recovery best practicesAmbulatory/outpatient perioperative workflow and pre/post-op patient educationIV therapy, phlebotomy and vascular access managementCharting and documentation in EPICTypes of anesthesia: Conscious sedation, General, Local, MAC, Nerve Blocks, SpinalMedication management: emergency meds, opioid analgesics, reversal agentsPain assessment and management and malignant hyperthermia protocolObtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG, medication reconciliation, and operative/procedural consent processesBenefitsA supportive team that values YOU — collaborative, friendly colleagues who have your backConsistent weekday schedule with no weekends or holiday call so you can actually make weekend plansEPIC charting environment — gain/maintain valuable ambulatory/EPIC experienceOrientation included (40 hours) to get you comfortable and confident on day oneLicensure assistance guidance and travel documentation support when applicableWork in a modern outpatient surgery setting with a variety of specialty cases to keep things interestingOpportunities to expand PACU and perioperative skills (Phase I & II care, endoscopy, MAC, nerve blocks)A culture that prioritizes patient safety and professional developmentTravel Perks: Explore Redmond, WARedmond puts you close to big-city energy and great outdoors.
