SummaryThis position is responsible for the daily management of projects including business development, proposal preparation and pricing, contract administration, project execution, project cost control and client service. The percentage of time spent on each of these tasks is relevant to the level of the position- PMI, PM II, or PM III. The higher the level of project manager, the higher the percentage of time that is to be spent on business development rather than project management activities.PM III requires ability to work on large, more complex projects. Incumbent directs and coordinates activities of engineering team to successfully execute projects including design, product selection, and systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesBUSINESS DEVELOPMENTIdentify and develop plan to obtain follow-on work with existing clientsDevelop new clientsPrepare proposals under the direction of the Group LeaderDevelop proposal schedulesDevelops scope of services, staffing and pricingInclude Burns Terms and ConditionsMeet annual sales goalCLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENTAddress feedback from Client Satisfaction SurveyKnow your client through routine communication and regular visitsEstablish 5 key clients that are in Acquaintance phase, develop and implement plan to achieve professional peer statusContinuously confirm client requirements for projectKnow the industry you are servicing by participating in technical society meetings,Conferences and other industry-related activitiesFINANCIAL MANAGEMENTResponsible for up to $1 million in sales and revenueEnsure revenue write-downs for the Group are no more than 3% of net revenueProvide accounting with guidance re invoice preparation and ensure invoices are prepared by 10th working day of the monthEnsure accounts receivable are collectedApprove time sheets and expense reports weeklyEnsure written authorization has been received before starting workMaintain at least a 2.7 multiplier on projects managedPROJECT EXECUTIONEnsure all departmental personnel adhere to the requirements of the company QA/QC policies and proceduresMaintain a write-down percentage of 3% or lessDevelop project plans to mitigate risksEnsure that all design documents, reports, proposals, inspections and information required to serve the client are properly prepared and reportedEnsure client schedules are metEnsure cost control procedures are in place and being followed Ensure that project closeout procedures are followedHold routine project meetings to review schedule, deliverables and budgetIdentify, request and receive authorization for scope changes before work is executedTEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTTypically maintains 2-5 direct reportsActively participate in recruiting technical staffMotivate personnel to perform at high levels of performanceProvide mentoring opportunities for direct reports Oversee performance and salary reviews for direct reportsEnsure employees are adequately trained and supervisedProvide opportunities for professional development for direct reportsEffectively delegate and manage work loadHold all employees accountable to the same standard of performance and take corrective action when necessarySupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 2-5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education & ExperienceBachelor's (B.S.) Engineering degree from an accredited University or college and ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare project experience is strongly preferred. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust be a registered technical professional in one of the major technical disciplines
