Position: Unarmed Security Guard Location: VA Hospital Department: Security Reports To: Security Supervisor Hours: 5p-5a Mon - Fri and 5a-5p or 5p-5a Sat & Sun We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Unarmed Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and visitors. This role requires a high level of professionalism, the ability to handle stressful situations calmly, and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities: - Surveillance and Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure the safety and security of all areas. Monitor surveillance equipment and respond promptly to any suspicious activity or alarms. - Access Control: Manage and monitor entry and exit points, ensuring that only authorized personnel are granted access. Check IDs and issue visitor passes as required. - Incident Reporting: Observe and report any unusual or potentially hazardous situations. Write clear, concise, and detailed incident reports in English. - Public Interaction: Greet and assist visitors and employees in a courteous and professional manner. Address and resolve any issues or concerns as they arise. - Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner. Follow established procedures for various types of emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. - Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols. Maintain personal health and physical fitness standards as outlined in job requirements. Qualifications: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. - Language Skills: Must be literate in English with the ability to read and understand printed regulations, detailed written orders, and training materials. Must be able to compose reports that are clear, concise, and accurate. - Licensing: Must hold a valid Unarmed Security Guard I or II license issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. - Vision: Possess binocular vision correctable to 20/30 (Snellen). Must be free of color blindness. - Hearing: Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear without the aid of a hearing device. - Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of performing all duties and activities as described. Be in good general health without physical defects or abnormalities that could interfere with job performance. - Health Requirements: Free of communicable diseases, with documented tuberculosis (TB) testing every two years. Must test as TB-free prior to starting work. May be subject to random urinalysis for illegal drug use.
