This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with aerospace quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Production Supervisor leads and supports shop personnel, coordinates workflow and drives continuous improvement to meet production goals while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership:Provides communication between the shop floor and internal support groups to address all requests for information, quality issues, schedule priorities, and delivery performanceEnsures shop floor schedules are adhered to and estimated completion dates are provided and accurately maintainedProcesses employee timecards dailyAssists in organization of work staging areas as needed to maximize productivity through lean activitiesMonitor and maintain internal shop schedules including ensuring ecd's and status notes are input daily, adhering to work schedules, tracking queue days and LTN's in each areaAttend meetings as requiredAssist in organization of work staging areas as needed to maximize productivityComplete RCCA's as requiredIdentify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction and productivity gainsEnsure operators have the tools and materials needed to perform their dutiesEnsure safety guidelines and company safety policies are being followedConsistently acts in accordance with business professionalism principles including during business hours, at company events, meetings, off-site meetings, audits, etc.Consistently provides professional business communications to internal and external customers, staff, peers and company leadershipTeam Development and Leadership:Guide, coach and mentor direct reports ensuring those in supervisor/manager/lead roles provide proper support and guidance to their direct reportsEnsure direct reports are carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws with the guidance of HR; including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsFoster a culture of collaboration and teamwork to staff at all levelsProvide clear communication and direction to staff at all levelsFinancial Management:Monitor overtime to ensure utilization is necessaryMonitor and minimize shop downtimeMonitoring and reviewing scrap and implement RCCA to reduce/eliminateReduce/eliminate equipment repair costs by ensuring preventative measures are in place and being executedContinuous Improvement:Lead change management initiative to adapt to evolving industry standardsIdentify opportunities to enhance efficienciesHas authority to stop any production order for quality concernsEnsure all employees wear appropriate PPE in designated areas as requiredQualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:Team oriented with strong leadership and coaching skillsDetail oriented with meticulous work habits and strong project management skillsDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical documentsWillingness to apply hands-on approach in supporting customer activities and to step in when needed, not just observeStrong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful when under pressureComfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management while working in a fast-paced environmentMust demonstrate a sense of urgency and dedication to supporting customer requirementsQuality orientated, must understand requirements of AS9102Preferred Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or Five years supervision experience in aerospace manufacturing background or equivalent.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
