Is responsible for meeting the established standards of Intensive Nursing Practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the unit, and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Under general supervision, performs professional nursing, technical and administrative duties as they relate to the cardiac services department as assigned. Perform circulate, scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, interventional radiology procedures, holding area procedures, and Imaging Department nursing care support using clinical knowledge, technical skills and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols to include moderate sedation. Provides care, assessment prior, during and post-procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. EPICRequirementsRequired skills and minimum years of experience. Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in cardiac cath or interventional radiology; experience to include patients undergoing moderate sedation; current Alaska Registered Nurse license; CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); ACLS certification through AHA upon hire; PALS or ENPC certification through AHA demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external) and other equipment related to cardiac care; ability to use radiographic equipment as requested or assigned.
