Legal Secretary

Vaco has been engaged by a large Tuscaloosa law firm to identify an experienced legal secretary to add to their growing team. Our client's firm offers competitive compensation as well as excellent benefits.Responsibilities:Draft routine legal documentsManage multiple cases from start to trialCollect, organize, analyze and summarize various documents/recordsAssist with preparation of depositions, including gathering and organizing exhibitsAssist with trial preparation: assist with pretrial documents (deposition designations, exhibit and witness list, organize exhibits, files and other supporting documents)Assist during trial: manage exhibits, assist with witnesses and any other duties associated with trialConduct various document searches and factual researchRequirements:Bachelor's degree strongly preferredMinimum 3 years of experience as a legal secretary for a large firmExperience in all phases of the litigation processAbility to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneysAbility to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing and/or categorizing documentsExperience preparing for trials and/or arbitrationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExceptionally well organized and detail orientedAdaptable to changing priorities; flexibleExcellent interpersonal skills: Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, other counsel and vendorsAbility to troubleshoot issues and create solutionsProficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
