Hydraulic Design Engineer – Temporary Pumping Systems
Are you an engineer with a strong background in fluid dynamics and system design? We are seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer to support the technical design and execution of temporary pumping and bypass systems. This role plays a key part in delivering efficient, cost-effective solutions for complex fluid-handling applications.
You’ll work closely with consulting engineers, contractors, and internal teams to develop high-performance pumping systems while supporting both project execution and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize temporary bypass pumping systems and fluid-handling solutions
Provide technical expertise in pump selection and hydraulic system design
Prepare bids, proposals, and cost estimates for projects
Partner with sales teams to support customer engagement and solution development
Advise field teams on system setup, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Deliver engineering support to internal and external stakeholders
Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly across teams
Stay current on industry trends, standards, and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related field)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with technical and commercial teams
Preferred Experience
3+ years of experience in pump systems, hydraulics, or fluid handling
Knowledge of centrifugal pumps and temporary bypass pumping systems
Professional Engineering (PE) designation is an asset
Experience with tools such as MathCAD, pump selection software, or CRM systems is a plus
