Junior Python DeveloperLocation: Remote, United StatesEmployment Type: Full-time, W-2Department: Engineering / Software DevelopmentAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Python Developer to join our engineering team. This entry-level position is designed for someone with a solid foundation in Python programming who is interested in building, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications.You will work with experienced developers and cross-functional team members to develop reliable software, troubleshoot technical issues, work with APIs and databases, and contribute to ongoing development projects. This role provides an opportunity to strengthen your software engineering skills while gaining practical experience with real-world applications and development practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve software applications and services using Python.Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-documented code.Assist with developing backend functionality, scripts, services, and application components.Work with REST APIs and integrate application components with external or internal services.Work with relational databases and perform basic data operations using SQL.Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues with guidance from senior team members.Write and maintain unit tests and participate in software testing activities.Use Git and standard version-control workflows for software development.Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from experienced developers.Collaborate with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams.Document technical changes, development tasks, and relevant processes.Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint activities where applicable.Continuously learn and apply software development best practices.Required Qualifications0–2 years of software development experience, including internships, co-op experience, academic projects, personal projects, open-source contributions, or equivalent practical experience.Working knowledge of Python programming.Understanding of fundamental programming concepts and object-oriented programming.Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms.Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts.Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and improve existing code.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar technologies.Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL, or another relational database.Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.Exposure to Docker or containerized development environments.Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices.Experience using development tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jira, or similar platforms.Coursework, internship, academic, or personal project experience involving backend development or software engineering.Compensation & BenefitsRecommended compensation range: $80,000–$105,000 per year.The final compensation range and any applicable benefits or additional compensation are subject to the employer's approved compensation structure and applicable employment requirements.Work ArrangementThis is a fully remote, full-time W-2 position for candidates residing in the United States, subject to applicable employment, payroll, and hiring requirements in the candidate's state of residence.Equal Employment OpportunityWe are an equal opportunity employer.
