Production Supervisor

Schedule: 12-hour shift 4 days x12 Day shift Night shift Rotating weekends Job Summary: Manage the activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes. Must be able to run machinery you are supervising following training period. Lead production operations. An ability to plan ahead to ensure proper inventory and staffing levels to meet and exceed production needs. Plan, schedule and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products in a timely manner. Maintain daily communication with the other departments to meet customer needs. Responsible for employee selection and retention, performance and merit reviews, and discipline. Provide necessary training to ensure the quality of work performed by the department. Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the company and Department’s mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interview and recommend applicants for hire. Plan and coordinate work; train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of employees; ensure their ability to safely operate all machinery, tools and equipment. Counsel and document employees’ performance issues. Driving quality, safety and productivity initiatives. Ensure all employees keep the production area neat and organized at all times. Preferences: Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment, or exposure to Lean theory. Ability to establish professional relationships that allows for employee accountability.
