Omni Fort Lauderdale HotelThe Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.JOB PURPOSE: To provide exemplary service all guests according to Omni standardsEssential Job Functions Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food andbeverage menu selections Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needsand special requests Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner Adhere to cash handling standards Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage Present accurate check to guest and process payment Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day Station set-up and breakdown/side-work Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtainedQualifications Minimum 1 year serving experience Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presentingwines Previous Cash Handling Experience Required Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English withguests, management and co-workers Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-pacedenvironment Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidaysEnvironment & Position Analysis Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds withoutassistance.
