Senior Java DeveloperLocation: New York City, NY (Onsite)Contract: 6 months DurationWork Arrangement: Local candidates only; must be available for face-to-face interviews.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with 10+ years of experience in developing enterprise-level applications using Java/J2EE technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful web services, and database technologies, along with experience in Agile development and DevOps practices.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and global IT teams to ensure successful project delivery.Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications.Ensure system architecture and integration designs align with enterprise standards and business objectives.Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate technical requirements based on project needs.Perform hands-on coding, unit testing, and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.Apply software development best practices, design patterns, and effective testing strategies.Identify and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring application stability and performance.Stay current with emerging technologies, development tools, and AI-assisted software development practices.Required Skills10+ years of experience in enterprise application development using Java/J2EE.Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate/ORM.Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.Hands-on experience with Java/JEE, XML, XPath, XSLT, RESTful web services, and SOAP.Experience with Apache Tomcat or other application servers.Strong proficiency in SQL queries; experience with Sybase or DB2 is preferred.Experience with JSON, XML, XSLT, and web services integration.Knowledge of JUnit and performance profiling tools such as JProfiler or JProbe.Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps integration, and CI/CD practices.Familiarity with JIRA or other application lifecycle management tools.Exposure to AI tools, AI models, or AI-assisted development.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.Desired SkillsWorking knowledge of UI technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, or React.Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, or wealth management.Experience with Unix/Linux development environments.Educational QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
