Performance Test Lab Supervisor

Lead our Intertek-accredited Engineering Test & Validation lab. You’ll plan and run performance testing on mission-critical cooling products, manage lab personnel, and own the certifications that keep us compliant with DOE, CEC, UL, and ISO standards.At a glanceEducation: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similarExperience: 7–10 years in an engineering or technical roleHVAC testing: 2+ years requiredCertification: EPA 608 Universal (or able to obtain)What you’ll doLead the lab team. Supervise lab personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and own compensation decisions for direct reports.Own certifications and compliance. Maintain Intertek, MET, UL, and ISO accreditations. Handle DOE and CEC submissions as required. Create and maintain third-party listing reports.Plan and run performance tests. Schedule product performance tests and customer witness tests in coordination with Engineering, Application Engineering, and Sales.Design custom test methods. Build test apparatus and develop procedures when test requirements deviate from standard protocols.Maintain the lab. Oversee general upkeep of lab assets, equipment, validations, and certifications. Uphold company safety standards.Report and communicate. Generate reports and keep cross-functional stakeholders informed on lab activity and results.Required qualificationsB.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field7–10 years in an engineering or technical roleMinimum 2 years performing HVAC service or testingHands-on use of testing equipment for critical cooling and environmental control systemsSafety training: NFPA 70E, OSHA, or equivalentEPA 608 Universal (or ability to obtain)Basic algebraAbility to read and understand English instructionsPreferred qualificationsExperience in the mission-critical cooling industryProject management skillsKnowledge of psychrometricsFamiliarity with industry standards: AHRI 1360, ASHRAE 127, UL 1995, UL 60335-2-40, UL 508A, UL 998Physical requirementsThe role involves regular standing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and handling, with frequent walking and sitting. Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception are required. Hands-on manufacturing or test support may be needed at the factory or at customer installation sites.Work environmentPrimarily office and lab settings, with exposure to moving mechanical equipment and electrical hazards at moderate noise levels. Occasional work in manufacturing areas (higher noise, lower air quality) and field support at customer sites, including outdoor environments and standard HVAC installation conditions.
