Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector to join our team in our Lynchburg office. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct field inspections for compliance with permits, update construction/project documents, and perform post-construction inspections.Qualifications:- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred- VA DEQ Stormwater and ESC certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software- Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.Responsibilities:- Maintain detailed records and reports related to erosion and sedimentation- Review sedimentation and erosion control plans for compliance- Inspect site perimeters, silt fences, construction entrances, sedimentation basins, grading, etc.- Stay updated on changing laws and regulations- Conduct field inspections to monitor compliance progress and maintain enforcement records- Travel to remote sites as necessary for inspectionsPreferred Qualifications:- Three to five years of relevant experience- Self-starter with the ability to learn on the job- Reliable, punctual, and responsive to inquiriesThis position requires a valid VA driver's license with a clean record, and preference will be given to candidates with DEQ ESC & SWM certifications.
