Payroll & Human Resources Specialist Hodson P.I., LLC Temecula, CA Full-Time | Non-Exempt | $32.00–$42.00 per hour Join One of California's Leading Private Investigation Firms Hodson P.I., LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Specialist to become an integral part of our growing team. What You'll Do As our Payroll & Human Resources Specialist, you'll oversee payroll administration while supporting key Human Resources functions throughout the employee lifecycle. Payroll Responsibilities Process accurate bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now Audit employee timecards and payroll records Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized Process wage adjustments, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, and final paychecks Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and wage assignments Maintain payroll records and documentation Respond to employee payroll questions professionally Coordinate with ADP regarding payroll issues Assist Accounting with payroll reporting and reconciliations Human Resources Responsibilities Coordinate onboarding and offboarding Maintain employee records within ADP Workforce Now Prepare employment documentation Process promotions, compensation changes, and employee status updates Administer employee benefits and qualifying life event changes Coordinate leave administration including FMLA, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and related programs Assist with workers' compensation administration Support recruiting, interview scheduling, and onboarding Conduct employment verifications Answer employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and company policies Support employee engagement and recognition programs Assist leadership with HR documentation and special projects Compliance Maintain compliance with California and federal employment laws Maintain I-9 documentation Monitor labor law postings and required notices Assist with internal audits Maintain confidential personnel records Prepare HR reports and metrics What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Minimum 3 years of payroll administration experience Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (Required) Strong understanding of California employment laws Experience administering employee benefits Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills Outstanding attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) SHRM-CP or PHR certification Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field Multi-state payroll experience Workers' compensation administration Leave administration Professional services industry experience Experience configuring ADP Workforce Now modules Payroll auditing and wage-and-hour compliance experience ADP reporting experience HRIS process improvement experience Experience handling confidential employee investigations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Why Join Hodson P.I.? Schedule Monday through Friday Full-Time (40 hours per week) Some overtime or occasional evenings/weekends may be required based on business needs. Compensation $32.00–$42.00 per hour Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall fit for the position.
