BUDGET ANALYST I

Work Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid (2 days onsite)Duration: 5 months (with possible extension)Key Responsibilities Perform in-depth budget analysis within assigned areas of responsibilityFormulate, justify, and execute budgets in alignment with program requirementsIdentify, evaluate, and resolve financial and budget-related issues, questions, and discrepanciesConduct budget formulation activities, including preparation of detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding needs for current and future fiscal yearsProvide management with procedural and regulatory guidance regarding the availability and limitations of fundsEnsure that obligations and expenditures comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policiesCompile, analyze, and summarize financial data related to contracts and operational expensesPrepare and analyze reports on the status of funds, including expenses, commitments, and obligationsMake necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial dataProvide historical and current financial data to support the development of funding estimatesCoordinate the review and preparation of actual and projected financial estimates and justifications in support of program goals and objectivesIdentify deficiencies, excesses, trends, and imbalances in financial executionDevelop and deliver consolidated financial responses and reporting to senior leadership, including Director and Deputy Director-level stakeholdersRequired Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience in governmental accounting or financial management Demonstrated knowledge of appropriation laws, regulations, policies, and proceduresExperience monitoring budget execution across multiple funding sources and typesAbility to ensure alignment between financial plans and execution timelinesStrong analytical capability to identify trends in obligations and expenditures and assess financial performance against program objectivesAbility to ensure funds are properly and effectively utilized to support mission requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present formal findings and recommendationsClearance RequirementPublic Trust (U.S. Citizenship required)The role is structured as a 5-month engagement with the potential for extension based on program needs and performance recblid g79g9bpomln7q9ggs4t4ae3ho3b2b9
