My client, a global banking and finance intelligence provider, is looking for an experienced and dynamic Section Editor to join its rapidly growing team in New York. This leadership role is pivotal in spearheading coverage and driving editorial excellence within the US start-up arm of an established international brand.As the Section Editor, you will lead a team of journalists in a newly created role. You'll be part of a dynamic newsroom, focused on delivering top-notch news, commentary, and research. This hands-on position requires strong leadership, editorial skills, and the ability to mentor reporters while working on your own beat.Responsibilities:Content Oversight:Drive and oversee all content for the section.Monitor key themes and set the content agenda.Align section content with commercial plans and business priorities.Edit value-added content (scoops, long-form articles, commentary, interviews) and provide feedback.Content Contribution:Produce value-added content and maintain/build your network of contacts.Lead by example in content production.Team Management:Line manage a team of journalists.Conduct performance reviews and facilitate career development.Arrange training and coaching sessions.Editorial Leadership:Play a senior role in the editorial team.Assist the managing editor and deputize in their absence.Provide advice and coaching to junior team members.Requirements -Experience in a fast-paced market intelligence/niche B2B business title.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build off-the-record sources.Determination to win, a collaborative team spirit, craftsmanship in work, and integrity.Financial and numerical literacy with a genuine interest in finance and the economy.Strong editing and writing skills with a well-developed news sense and attention to detail.Experience in high-growth businesses with expanding teams.Our client is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the recruitment process.
