This is a dream job for an experienced handyman who is regularly doing handyman work in and around Wellesley, MA and wants more customers. This job is not a great fit for a handyman who needs extensive training, or is currently seeking full-time work. Modern Home Help pairs homeowner members who have committed a year's worth of service with an experienced handyperson -- you! -- who helps with home maintenance tasks and unexpected homeownership repairs for two visits each month. Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm shift. Great work/life balance! Evenings and weekends available as optional Start out as hourly position, with potential to grow into full-time Focus on a territory with homeowners within 30 minutes of each other Mileage reimbursement and additional perks, fantastic! Qualifications: 10+ years experience, including at least 3 years in residential apartment maintenance and at least 3 years in single-family home maintenance person or carpenter experience. Licensed general contractors, electricians, and plumbers are also encouraged to apply. Good communication and customer service required. As a Handyperson, you'll be responsible for proactively performing regular home maintenance tasks, such as changing air filters every 3 months, checking gutters once a year, servicing appliances annually like dishwashers and dryers, breaking down shipping boxes, hanging art or holiday lights, or power washing patios. In addition, you will perform one-off requests such as installing a Nest or fixing a broken light switch. Each Handyperson is a part of the community which you serve. Responsibilities Reliably perform pre-scheduled handyman service visits for each of your member homes two times per month Independently lead "walk-thru" visits to showcase our service, your handyperson skills, and your unique customer-centric personality Provide feedback to headquarters on ways to improve how we serve our customers and collaborate to implement changes in the field Skills Top-notch customer-service skills Ability to perform maintenance, identify issues, and recommend solutions for key home appliances such as fridge, dishwasher, range, hood, oven, faucets, garbage disposal, toilet, vent fan, HVAC, water heater, etc. Ability to perform maintenance, identify issues, and recommend solutions for non-electrical systems such as gutters, windows, doors, vents, etc. Basic technology skills, such as installing and modifying wifi, smart locks, doorbells, and thermostats Must take pride in the detail of your finishes.
