In addition, providing leadership for the KSDE initiative Multi-Tier Systems of Supports (MTSS) is essential, as well as oversight of the Kansas Integrated Accountability System (KIAS) and Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) in implementing requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and IDEA You may request a position description for this opening by email from jobapp@ksde.gov. Required Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in a field directly related to Special Education or school administration that meets the needs of the agency. A degree is not required, but can be substituted for experience as deemed relevant by the agency. Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications: Advanced degree, preferably in special education or school administration; Knowledge of special education services, school improvement, Kansas MTSS, provision of statewide technical assistance, oversight of programs, policies, law and trends; Ability to efficiently and effectively manage team resources; Highly developed interpersonal and team building skills; Problem-solving and shared decision-making skills; Strong written and verbal skills; Positive customer service skills; Technology skills related to educational organizations and information; and Knowledge and experience with uniform grants guidance, grants management, data collection, verification and reporting. Preferred Experience District or state supervisory or administrative experience in special education.
