Assistant Coach - CC

Position Summary:Assists the head coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Provides activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes as assigned. Actively works to ensure the fulfillment of team, department and school goals within their sport. Sports available: Football, Volleyball, Cross County, Track, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, CheerPosition Objective:Primary goal is to teach and promote the glorification of God through the pursuit of excellence in athletics. Additionally, charged to use leadership, supervisory and teaching skills to promote the development of the individual program and all student-athletes.Spiritual Requirements:Coram Deo Academy hires individuals that profess the historic Christian faith. As evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in their lives, Coram Deo Academy expects all employees to be actively involved in a local church where their faith in practice is consistent with the Academy's mission and statement of faith.Essential Job Functions:Assists in implementing athletic objectivesAssumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilitiesAssumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assignedBe in regular attendance at all contests and practice sessionsInstills discipline, work ethic, respect and perseverance in athletesApplies discipline in a firm but positive mannerEmphasizes safety; is aware of best training procedures and injury preventative actionsConducts self and teams in an ethical manner during contests and practiceInstructs players in rules of the game, rule changes, new developments, and innovative ideasQualifications:Be dedicated to the historic Christian faith and the classical Christian approachResonate with Coram Deo Academy's mission, vision, core values and goalsExhibit the giftings and desire necessary to coach in their designated sportHave prior playing/coaching experience in the assigned sportPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Works in a highly challenging environment dealing with a wide variety of deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/ or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds
