High School Science Teacher

MC Prep is seeking men and women who are commissioned by God to serve as educators and pastors of the classroom. Reports To:Secondary PrincipalSkills and Qualifications:Born again, spirit-filled believerActive member of a Bible-believing churchPrioritizes growing in a relationship with Jesus Christ through daily personal encountersBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university8th-12th Grade Texas Teaching Certificate in ScienceTwo or more years of experience in education (highly preferred)Able to receive and apply feedback in the pursuit of excellenceStrong, proactive work ethicPersonable with great communication skillsCollaborative, flexible, goal-driven personalityResponsibilities:Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology.Engages students in the learning process through direct and collaborative instructionCreates a classroom environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and supports high expectations for learningProvides appropriate classroom instruction and assessment, incorporating a biblical worldview, across all subject areasMaintains accurate gradebook records and posts lesson plans weeklyMaintains clear, open, professional communication with team members, parents, and other school employeesLifelong learner who willingly participates in professional development that enhances skills in both subject matter and management of the classroom.Fosters warm relationships with students and simultaneously maintains classroom control and learningBe responsible for the orderly decor, arrangement, appearance, and learning environment of the classroomFollows the guidelines of the curriculum and best practices for the subjectFlexible and willing to do what is necessary for the betterment of the schoolBe able to handle a crisis both large and smallExhibits a willingness to participate in the school community by supporting sponsoring, and/or leading extracurricular activitiesAdditional Duties & Responsibilities:This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required as an active participant in the mission of MC PREP.
