Health Care Fraud Investigator
Job Description
We are seeking a Health Care Fraud Investigator (HCF Investigator) to support the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) in the Northern District of Mississippi. This role involves conducting complex investigations related to civil and administrative healthcare fraud matters, directly supporting Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs). The investigator will operate independently and collaboratively on sensitive, high-impact cases involving federal programs, organizations, and individuals.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and conduct healthcare fraud investigations under the direction of AUSAsAnalyze applicable federal, state, and local laws to identify violations and legal exposureGather and evaluate evidence including:Financial records (billing, payroll, invoices)Medical and administrative documentationDigital and forensic dataConduct witness interviews (in-person and telephonic)Coordinate with federal agencies such as:FBIHHSDOLUSPISSECDevelop investigative strategies and determine methods for evidence collectionPrepare interim and final investigative reports for litigation useAssist AUSAs with:Trial preparationEvidence organizationWitness coordinationTestify in court as requiredSupport surveillance coordination (non-enforcement; no arrest authority)QualificationsBachelor's degree or higherMinimum 5+ years of investigative experience in a related fieldExperience with healthcare fraud, civil investigations, or regulatory enforcement preferredStrong ability to analyze complex financial and documentary evidenceU.S. Citizenship requiredSecurity RequirementsMust be eligible for a High-Risk Background Investigation (BI)Includes:Background checkCredit checkDrug screeningWork EnvironmentOn-site at:U.S. Attorney's Office900 Jefferson AvenueOxford, MSStandard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMLimited travel within the district (reimbursable per federal guidelines)Company DescriptionOur CompanyFounded in 2014, Legacy Management Solutions, LLC is a professional services firm providing essential administrative support and business management solutions for government agencies and private sector clients.
