Overview
The Process Engineering Technician within Knowles Precision Devices in Cazenovia works on a team to support the manufacture of thin film devices and single layer capacitors. The primary responsibility, in this role, is to support process engineers to sustain and improve manufacturing processes and drive engineering issues to resolution.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Process Engineering Manager. While this position does not have any direct reports they will cross-functionally interact with a large internal customer base which includes production operators, other technicians, quality engineers, and process engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Execute, document, and communicate engineering test plans, projects, and results
Implement process improvements for increased yield, reduced cycle time, and process repeatability
Develop and implement permanent corrective actions to improve quality and resolve customer concerns
Train operators, and other technicians on new processes as needed
Maintain process and training documentation
Work with vendors to determine and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Associates Degree in a science or engineering discipline, or applicable experience
Applicable experience within an industry producing electrical components preferred
SPC and data analysis experience preferred
Strong electrical and mechanical skills preferred
Demonstrated ability to learn new processes required

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting hourly pay for this role is targeted to be between $28.00 to $33.00.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
