Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by being knowledgeable about evidence and best practices for safety, speaking up about safety issues, and changing practice to enhance safety. Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms and communicates these with appropriate leadership. Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.2.Supports other members of the health care team, including nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals through collaborative clinical practice, education, research/evidence-based practice, and consultation. Acts as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, students and other health care providers.3.Facilitates change and innovation for patients/populations within the department, the health care system, and the community. Analyzes and utilizes data, including patient satisfaction data, QI data, other data relevant to specialty populations, and incident report/safety net data to identify opportunities for improvement and to develop a plan of action to improve outcomes.4.Participates in scholarly activities including research and evidence-based practice. Participates in personal professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Presents research and evidence-based practice findings to unit staff. Participates in regional/national programs relevant to specialty practice.
