General & World Music Teacher (Grades 4-8)
DescriptionPosition Summary:The General Music-World Music educator will provide engaging music instruction for students in grades 4-8 while expanding students' understanding of music as a global and deeply human form of expression. In addition to meeting Wisconsin music standards for general music learning, this unique role offers the opportunity to help students explore music from cultures around the world and experience how music serves as a powerful and binding element of the human experience.Through creative and experiential learning opportunities, such as drumming, ukulele, movement, and listening experiencea students will engage with diverse musical traditions and perspectives. The educator may also enrich learning through opportunities such as attending live performances and connecting classroom learning to authentic musical experiences.This position is ideal for a music educator who is passionate about inspiring curiosity, cultural awareness, and creativity through music in a collaborative and welcoming school environment.About the Glendale-River Hills School District:The Glendale-River Hills School District (GDRH) is a diverse, public school district serving students from the Glendale and River Hills community.
