TitleStaff Product Quality Engineer (PQE) Semiconductor Quality Engineering, Product Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance EngineerLocation:Onsite San Jose, CaliforniaDurationFull-timeJob DescriptionStaff Product Quality Engineer (PQE) responsible for semiconductor product quality, customer quality engineering, root cause analysis, and cross-functional quality improvement across product lifecycle.Roles & ResponsibilitiesLead customer complaint investigations using structured problem-solving methods including 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa for product quality engineering and semiconductor quality Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CAPA) across product engineering, manufacturing, reliability engineering, and test engineering teams Manage failure analysis (FA) requests and deliver clear technical findings to internal teams and customer-facing stakeholders Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve product quality issues and improve semiconductor device performance and reliability Monitor field return data, reliability metrics, yield trends, and customer quality indicators to identify risks and improve product quality Analyze data using statistical methods (SPC, DOE) and tools to support quality assurance and product quality engineering decisions Prepare and present customer-facing quality reports, technical presentations, and quality reviews Support customer audits, qualification activities, and compliance requirements for semiconductor quality and reliability Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, enhance product robustness, and improve customer satisfaction Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to strengthen process controls, test coverage, and quality systems SkillsProduct Quality Engineering (PQE), Semiconductor Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance Engineering, Customer Quality Engineering Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action (CAPA), 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Failure Analysis (FA), reliability analysis, semiconductor failure mechanisms Semiconductor devices, wafer fabrication, assembly, test processes, semiconductor manufacturing Data analysis tools: JMP, Python, MATLAB, Excel for quality data analysis and statistical modeling Statistical methods: SPC (Statistical Process Control), DOE (Design of Experiments), yield analysis, reliability metrics Customer-facing communication, technical reporting, cross-functional collaboration Reliability testing, process control, defect reduction, quality improvement methodologies FA tools knowledge: SEM, FIB, OBIRCH, EMMI (failure analysis techniques) Automotive and high-reliability standards: AEC Q100, ISO 26262 QualificationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science Minimum 12 years of experience in semiconductor quality, product engineering, reliability engineering, or manufacturing Strong expertise in semiconductor processes, reliability, and product quality engineering Proven experience in customer-facing roles, quality investigations, and cross-functional engineering environments
